Uterine malformation refers to congenital abnormalities in the development of the uterus. These conditions may happen when the reproductive tract does not form or fuse normally before birth.
Some women may not experience symptoms, while others may face infertility, repeated pregnancy loss, pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities or pregnancy complications.
Proper diagnosis is important because every uterine abnormality is different and treatment depends on the exact type and reproductive goals of the patient.
The uterus appears normal outside but has a septum dividing the uterine cavity. It may be linked with miscarriage or pregnancy loss.
A heart-shaped uterus with two horn-like structures. It may affect the space available for pregnancy growth.
Also called double uterus, where both Müllerian ducts develop separately and do not fuse properly.
A one-sided uterus that may appear banana-shaped on imaging and may affect pregnancy planning.
A mild variation where there is a small indentation in the uterine cavity. It is often considered a minor abnormality.
A condition where the uterus may be absent or underdeveloped, often associated with primary amenorrhea.
Many uterine defects do not show obvious symptoms. Some women only discover the condition during fertility evaluation, pregnancy scan or investigation for repeated miscarriage.
Take a second opinion from our fertility specialist and understand whether uterine factors may be affecting your pregnancy outcomes.

Advanced ultrasound helps assess uterine cavity shape and detect structural abnormalities.
MRI may help evaluate the external uterine contour and pelvic anatomy in detail.
Treatment is planned based on malformation type, symptoms and pregnancy goals.
Not every uterine malformation needs surgery. Many women may have a healthy pregnancy without surgical correction. Treatment depends on the type of abnormality, symptoms and reproductive history.
Surgery may be recommended when a uterine septum or other correctable abnormality is affecting fertility or causing repeated pregnancy loss.
Advanced imaging such as 3D ultrasound or MRI may help identify the exact uterine abnormality.
Treatment is planned keeping pregnancy goals, miscarriage history and fertility needs in mind.
Selected abnormalities can be managed with hysteroscopic or laparoscopic procedures.
We provide confidential, supportive and clear guidance for every patient’s condition.
